We will only collect information that is necessary, for us to provide you with insurance products. This includes information necessary for us to provide you with insurance cover and to process claims.

The types of personal information we collect and hold will depend on the product or service you request but may include:

    • Name and contact information (mail, phone, e-mail)
    • Date of Birth, gender
    • Details of previous insurance history
    • Details of your personal assets (e.g., house and contents, motor vehicle)
    • Details of your spouse or partner
    • Health information if applicable (e.g., for personal accident and illness insurance)
    • Employer, Salary.

It is your responsibility to advise us of any changes to your personal details to ensure we can keep our records accurate and up to date.

Wherever possible, we will collect information directly from you. If you choose not to provide us with the requested information, we may not be able to process your request.

Where we need to collect information from a third party, we will advise you of this as soon as possible after the event.

We will not track your internet activity when you visit our website and we will only collect your email address to respond to your enquiry if you choose to contact us via the internet.

We will use the information we collect to provide you with the insurance product or service you request. If we wish to use your personal information for other purposes, such as marketing, we will seek your consent.

We may disclose your information to other insurers, other parties as required by law, or to third party service providers such as investigators and assessors who are contractually required to comply with our privacy obligations.

PROTECTING AND MAINTAINING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will take all reasonable steps to protect the information we hold about you from unauthorised access, use and disclosure. We maintain physical security over our paper and electronic data stores and premises, such as locks and security systems. We also maintain computer and network security; for example, we use firewalls (security measures for the internet) and other security systems such as user identifiers and passwords to control access to computers. We will destroy your information when it is no longer needed.

ACCESSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

If you wish to access the information we hold about you, contact our office on 03 9794 8844 or Toll Free 1300 768 118 and ask to speak with our Privacy Officer. Where possible, your request will be dealt with within 14 days. If this is not possible, we will contact you within that time to let you know how long we estimate that it will take to resolve your complaint. If you can show the information we hold about you is not accurate or complete, please advise us so we can amend it.
